Representation

A terrain is provided as a geometric shape representation. A site may have more than one shape representation. However, it is most likely that application software will provide only one type of representation.
Information should be available from the software application that informs the user as to the type of representation being used to describe the terrain.
Representations that may be supported include:

Point Point based model that provides points and breaklines from survey data, a map source or other known source. Triangulation to determine the terrain surface is carried out by application software.
Face Surface model in which the terrain is fully triangulated using faces
Shell Surface model in which the terrain is fully triangulated using shells
Solid Solid model in which the terrain is fully triangulated using a faceted boundary representation

At least one representation type must be exchanged to satisfy this requirement

0 - Point Based Model (Information Delivery Manual (IDM))
1 - Face Based Surface Model (Information Delivery Manual (IDM))
2 - Shell Based SurfaceModel (Information Delivery Manual (IDM))
3 - Solid Model (Information Delivery Manual (IDM))
