Building (Cost)

Information below is provided by the role Cost Modelling through the functional part fp_define_quantity (volume)

Unit cost information should be assigned to the building to enable total cost to be determined. For preliminary appraisal costing, the unit for a building is the total floor area derived from the area of each building storey.

Unit basis for costing
For 'preliminary appraisal' costing, the unit basis for costing should be set to the total area of the building derived from the area of each building storey. The unit of measure for this should be appropriately set.

The resulting cost value after application of cost impact factors (see below) should be captured
Each cost value should be identified by type according to a defined list of cost types.
In the absence of such a list at this stage of a project, the type 'Preliminary Appraisal' should be used. Refer to locally extended exchange requirements for further details of agreed cost types.

Each cost value used may have a further name and description associated to further define the meaning of the item
The date on which the cost value is applicable should be asserted.
If there is a limit to the time for which a cost is applicable, it should also be asserted.
