Energy

In this section all energy realted information needed to satisfy the Exchange Energy Analysis Model (Energy) will be described.

Source

Set the energy sources used for the project.

Note that there may be several energy sources and these will need to be referenced to the spaces, systems that apply them.

Information Needed Man Opt Rec Actor Supplying Functional Part
Identification of energy source.     Energy and Comfort Advisor
Indication of whether energy source is primary, secondary or tertiary.     Energy and Comfort Advisor
Conversion efficiency for use of the energy source.     Energy and Comfort Advisor

Consumption

Captures the rate of energy consumption of the various energy sources used.

Information Needed Man Opt Rec Actor Supplying Functional Part
The amount of heat energy consumed during the period specified in the time series.     Energy and Comfort Advisor
The amount of electricity consumed during the period specified in the time series.     Energy and Comfort Advisor
The amount of water consumed during the period specified in the time series.     Energy and Comfort Advisor
The amount of fuel consumed during the period specified in the time series.     Energy and Comfort Advisor
The amount of steam consumed during the period specified in the time series.     Energy and Comfort Advisor

Tariff

Cost values that apply to the source of energy and its form of usage. During the early stages of design, information may be obtained from similar projects. As design progresses, information is obtained from the energy source provider.

Information Needed Man Opt Rec Actor Supplying Functional Part
Cost value to be applied.     Energy and Comfort Advisor
Identification that the cost value is an energy tariff.     Energy and Comfort Advisor
Time series applicability of the energy tariff. The tarriff may be applicable not only to the energy source but also to when the energy source is used. For instance, electrical energy may carry a lower tarriff when it is used in 'off peak' situations since such this may be useful to the source provider in load balancing.     Energy and Comfort Advisor
