COBIE Information Delivery Manual
This page provides the outline of the Information Delivery Manual for the North American Construction Operations Building Information Exchange Information Exchange (COBIE) standard. This information exchange is slightly different in scope than many of the previously completed information exchanges. That is because the people who defined the requirement for COBIE were facility Operations, Maintenance, and Asset Management personnel in conjunction with construction contractors.

Process Maps
The Process Maps linked here describe the specific processes that drive information exchange. Business Process Modeling Notation ([www.bpmn.org]) is used to model the process flow for each such domain. The process maps provided here do not attempt to model the entire view points of each member of the capital facilities industries. These models describe the flows needed to complete this specific requirement. These generic models can be used, referenced or modified within a national, organizational or project scope to suit specific needs.

Exchange Requirements
Exchange Requirement describe the information needed by a business process to be executed as well as the information produced by the same business process. An exchange requirement attempt to break down these information requirements into concepts which can be easily understood. Each Exchange Requirement references the Process Map that defines the requirement for the Exchange Requirement.
Functional Parts
A Functional Part is a reusable, specific set of information found in an Exchange Requirement that identifies every entity, every attribute, property set and property concerned. Because of the detail included, functional parts can also be broken down into other functional parts. That is, a functional part may call on the services of other functional parts in the same way as exchange requirements.
