Exchange Energy Analysis Model (Energy)

The scope of this exchange requirement is the exchange of information about energy consumption. The purpose of the exchange requirement is to enable coordination of energy analysis with other design roles based on the results of energy analysis and the ability to comply with set energy targets. Here, it is considered that the energy and comfort advisor may have an impact on the overall design of a project particularly in cases where a building is required to be energy efficient (complying with a high target).

The exchange requirement assumes that the information provisions outlined in the exchange requirement Exchange Energy Analysis Model (Zones) and Exchange Energy Analysis Model (Demand) have been satisfied. This is considered to provide all information required concerning:

• the building, its location, composition, overall shape and orientation
• the shape and location of adjacent buildings
• building storeys within the building
• spaces within the building including their identification by type, name and function
• building elements used and their construction type
• space boundaries that define the relation between spaces and building elements
• technical systems and their locations for use within energy analysis.
• weather data
• outside design criteria
• internal design criteria including thermal and ventilation requirements
• energy target
